TIPS AND POINTERS WHEN CREATING YOUR CHARACTER BIO/PROFILE
There are many ways that you can create a bio for your character and there are many formats out there. Should you wish to you can follow whatever formats you wish to follow in bio creation, but your back history is your own to incorporate and give your character the feel you want it too have. Here in this area All we are doing is giving you some of those ideas and that within our roleplay we let you know of things you need to be careful about when creating your bio. Enjoy....
We follow a Real Roleplay standard and sometimes our standards are higher than other groups of roleplayers. Understand this when you create a Bio, you can not change what is in your bio/profile after the fact of something happening to your character (unless it is a child character or you have gained new abilities). Old style roleplayers look at this as God Moding (ex. your character is killed and you try and find a way out of the kill after accepting it). True roleplayers will take what has happened and role with it even if that means having to create a whole new persona and character. This is what it means to role play noones character will live indefinately.. This also means that real roleplayers if you have something concealed with your character then you have to state there is a concealment and what it pertains to not what the actual concealment is this way you are not hiding something from another rper who might look at your bio if they are wanting to do something to your character.
We already know that with children characters they will grow into whatever their potential is as they get older and new powers and abilities and skills will be found throughout their roleplay.
Adult characters should already be set into what their abilites or powers are unless you state that there are abilites and such that have not been awakened within the character..this way you are stating there is a form of concealment but it is not being hidden from those within the roleplay.
Now we know that characters will change as time goes on, BUT.. if you do not put onto your bio/profile stating what these new things are or the changes of your character is not listed on your bio/profile at the time of their having been an incident or injury or death of the character... You can not come back after a kill was done to your character saying "OH I FOUND A LOOPHOLE" THIS WILL NOT FLY AND THIS IS CONSIDERED GOD MODING AND YOUR CHARACTER HAS BECOME VOID AND WHATEVER HAD HAPPENED TO YOUR CHARACTER WILL STAND. there is no exception to this. If you do not keep your profile/bio updated on changes as your character moves and grows in a rp then anything you do not have listed on your bio/profile that you claim after the fact is not usuable. You must keep your bio/profile updated at all times, there is no exception to this.
Any character that you create, understand this everyone will have weakenesses, now you do not have to list all of your weaknesses, but you do need to state that there are some weakenesses that are worse than others. This just means that people in the rp have find out what your weaknesses and fears are through rp and not from reading your bio/profile page.
This also goes for weapons that are very powerful and contain magic and powers in them. You have to show what is in the weapon.... you do not have to state what is the weakness of the weapon but that yes there is a weakness you just have to find out through rp or through others who do know about the weapon. and who have gained this knowledge through actual rp and not being told this through an OOC conversation.
As I think of more tips and things to help you in your character bio/profile creation I will add them to this page so check back on occasion... Thank you and enjoy your rp.
